Engineering

The City of Pacific Engineering Department provides many services including:

  • Review and Issuance of Site Development Plans;
  • Fill and Grade Permitting Assistance;
  • Utility Records Research;
  • Preparation of Plans and Specifications, and Contract Management for Public Works Construction Projects; and
  • Engineering Consultant Management Services.

The goal of the Pacific Engineering Department is to provide services to create a safe infrastructure system: drainage, potable water, streets, and wastewater collection and conveyance. The department strives to provide timely and accurate service to citizens, contractors, and developers.

Construction Site Stormwater

All construction projects in the City of Pacific larger than one acre require a Department of Ecology National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit. Applications are available at: http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/wq/stormwater/construction/

Construction in the Right of Way

All construction projects in City of Pacific rights-of-way require traffic control plans meeting the requirements of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The MUTCD is available at: http://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/
